So if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it spewed out the nations before you.

This came to pass with the destruction and exile of the northern kingdom by the Assyrians in 722 BC (2 Kgs 17:6) and when the Babylonians destroyed and exiled Judah in 586 BC (2 Kgs 25:8-21).
