Zedekiah his son - If this be the same who was the last king of Judah, before the captivity, the word son must be taken here to signify successor; for it is certain that Zedekiah was the successor of Jeconiah, and that Zedekiah was the son of Josiah, and not of Jehoiakim.

Aber im siebenunddreißigsten Jahre, nachdem Jehojachin, der König von Juda, gefangen hinweggeführt worden, am siebenundzwanzigsten Tage des zwölften Monats, erhob Evil-Merodach, der König von Babel, im ersten Jahre seiner Regierung das Haupt Jehojachins, des Königs von Juda, und entließ ihn aus dem Kerker;
Ist dieser Mann, dieser Konja, nicht ein verworfenes, zerschmissenes Gefäß? Ist er nicht ein Geschirr, an dem man kein Gefallen findet? Warum würde er sonst samt seinem Samen weggeschleudert und hingeworfen in ein Land, das ihnen unbekannt ist?
