ثُمَّ بَعْدَ الثَّلاَثَةِ الأَيَّامِ وَالنِّصْفِ، دَخَلَ فِيهِمَا رُوحُ حَيَاةٍ مِنَ اللهِ، فَوَقَفَا عَلَى أَرْجُلِهِمَا. وَوَقَعَ خَوْفٌ عَظِيمٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَنْظُرُونَهُمَا.

Translate as Greek, "After the three days and an half." the Spirit of life--the same which breathed life into Israel's dry bones, Eze 37:10-11 (see on Eze 37:10-11), "Breath came into them." The passage here, as there, is closely connected with Israel's restoration as a nation to political and religious life. Compare also concerning the same, Hos 6:2, where Ephraim says, "After two days will He revive us; in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight." into--so B and Vulgate. But A reads (Greek, "en autois"), "(so as to be) IN them." stood upon their feet--the very words in Eze 37:10, which proves the allusion to be to Israel's resurrection, in contrast to "the times of the Gentiles" wherein these "tread under foot the holy city." great fear--such as fell on the soldiers guarding Christ's tomb at His resurrection (Mat 28:4), when also there was a great earthquake (Rev 11:2). saw--Greek, "beheld."

افتح المصدر ↗11:11 The death of the two witnesses is not the end of their ministry. God was not defeated in the death of Jesus and he will not be defeated in the slaughter of his witnesses. The God of the resurrection breathed life into the dead so that they stood up (see Ezek 37:3-5, 10), leaving no doubt about God’s power. • Terror struck: It is a fearful experience for sinful humans to face the power of the living God (see Heb 10:31).

وَجَبَلَ الرَّبُّ الإِلهُ آدَمَ تُرَابًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ، وَنَفَخَ فِي أَنْفِهِ نَسَمَةَ حَيَاةٍ. فَصَارَ آدَمُ نَفْسًا حَيَّةً.

فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ حَنَانِيَّا هذَا الْكَلاَمَ وَقَعَ وَمَاتَ. وَصَارَ خَوْفٌ عَظِيمٌ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الَّذِينَ سَمِعُوا بِذلِكَ.
وَيَنْظُرُ أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الشُّعُوبِ وَالْقَبَائِلِ وَالأَلْسِنَةِ وَالأُمَمِ جُثَّتَيْهِمَا ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَنِصْفًا، وَلاَ يَدَعُونَ جُثَّتَيْهِمَا تُوضَعَانِ فِي قُبُورٍ.
فَصَارَ خَوْفٌ عَظِيمٌ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الْكَنِيسَةِ وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ الَّذِينَ سَمِعُوا بِذلِكَ.
بَعْدَ ذلِكَ يَعُودُ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ وَيَطْلُبُونَ الرَّبَّ إِلهَهُمْ وَدَاوُدَ مَلِكَهُمْ، وَيَفْزَعُونَ إِلَى الرَّبِّ وَإِلَى جُودِهِ فِي آخِرِ الأَيَّامِ.
فَتَكُونُ لِيَ اسْمَ فَرَحٍ لِلتَّسْبِيحِ وَلِلزِّينَةِ لَدَى كُلِّ أُمَمِ الأَرْضِ، الَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَ بِكُلِّ الْخَيْرِ الَّذِي أَصْنَعُهُ مَعَهُمْ، فَيَخَافُونَ وَيَرْتَعِدُونَ مِنْ أَجْلِ كُلِّ الْخَيْرِ وَمِنْ أَجْلِ كُلِّ السَّلاَمِ الَّذِي أَصْنَعُهُ لَهَا.
وَفِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ حَدَثَتْ زَلْزَلَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ، فَسَقَطَ عُشْرُ الْمَدِينَةِ، وَقُتِلَ بِالزَّلْزَلَةِ أَسْمَاءٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ: سَبْعَةُ آلاَفٍ. وَصَارَ الْبَاقُونَ فِي رَعْبَةٍ، وَأَعْطَوْا مَجْدًا لإِلهِ السَّمَاءِ.
وَقَالَتْ لِلرَّجُلَيْنِ: «عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ أَعْطَاكُمُ الأَرْضَ، وَأَنَّ رُعْبَكُمْ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْنَا، وَأَنَّ جَمِيعَ سُكَّانِ الأَرْضِ ذَابُوا مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ،
