لأَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ كَخِرَافٍ ضَالَّةٍ، لكِنَّكُمْ رَجَعْتُمُ الآنَ إِلَى رَاعِي نُفُوسِكُمْ وَأُسْقُفِهَا.

(Isa 53:6.) For--Assigning their natural need of healing (Pe1 2:24). now--Now that the atonement for all has been made, the foundation is laid for individual conversion: so "ye are returned," or "have become converted to," &c. Shepherd and Bishop--The designation of the pastors and elders of the Church belongs in its fullest sense to the great Head of the Church, "the good Shepherd." As the "bishop" oversees (as the Greek term means), so "the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous" (Pe1 3:12). He gives us His spirit and feeds and guides us by His word. "Shepherd," Hebrew, "Parnas," is often applied to kings, and enters into the composition of names, as "Pharnabazus." Next: 1 Peter Chapter 3
افتح المصدر ↗The general exhortation to holiness is continued, and enforced by several reasons taken from the foundation on which Christians are built, Jesus Christ, and from their spiritual blessings and privileges in him. The means of obtaining it, the word of God, is recommended, and all contrary qualities are condemned (Pe1 2:1-12). Particular directions are given how subjects ought to obey the magistrates, and servants their masters, patiently suffering in well doing, in imitation of Christ (Pe1 2:13 to the end).

كُلُّنَا كَغَنَمٍ ضَلَلْنَا. مِلْنَا كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ إِلَى طَرِيقِهِ، وَالرَّبُّ وَضَعَ عَلَيْهِ إِثْمَ جَمِيعِنَا.
ضَلَّتْ غَنَمِي فِي كُلِّ الْجِبَالِ، وَعَلَى كُلِّ تَلّ عَال، وَعَلَى كُلِّ وَجْهِ الأَرْضِ. تَشَتَّتَتْ غَنَمِي وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَنْ يَسْأَلُ أَوْ يُفَتِّشُ.
اِحْتَرِزُوا اِذًا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ وَلِجَمِيعِ الرَّعِيَّةِ الَّتِي أَقَامَكُمُ الرُّوحُ الْقُدُسُ فِيهَا أَسَاقِفَةً، لِتَرْعَوْا كَنِيسَةَ اللهِ الَّتِي اقْتَنَاهَا بِدَمِهِ.
كَرَاعٍ يَرْعَى قَطِيعَهُ. بِذِرَاعِهِ يَجْمَعُ الْحُمْلاَنَ، وَفِي حِضْنِهِ يَحْمِلُهَا، وَيَقُودُ الْمُرْضِعَاتِ».
ضَلَلْتُ ، كَشَاةٍ ضَالَّةٍ. اطْلُبْ عَبْدَكَ، لأَنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ وَصَايَاكَ.
وَلَمَّا رَأَى الْجُمُوعَ تَحَنَّنَ عَلَيْهِمْ، إِذْ كَانُوا مُنْزَعِجِينَ وَمُنْطَرِحِينَ كَغَنَمٍ لاَ رَاعِيَ لَهَا.
مَاذَا تَظُنُّونَ؟ إِنْ كَانَ لإِنْسَانٍ مِئَةُ خَرُوفٍ، وَضَلَّ وَاحِدٌ مِنْهَا، أَفَلاَ يَتْرُكُ التِّسْعَةَ وَالتِّسْعِينَ عَلَى الْجِبَالِ وَيَذْهَبُ يَطْلُبُ الضَّالَّ؟
وَمَتَى ظَهَرَ رَئِيسُ الرُّعَاةِ تَنَالُونَ إِكْلِيلَ الْمَجْدِ الَّذِي لاَ يَبْلَى.
وَإِلهُ السَّلاَمِ الَّذِي أَقَامَ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ رَاعِيَ الْخِرَافِ الْعَظِيمَ، رَبَّنَا يَسُوعَ، بِدَمِ الْعَهْدِ الأَبَدِيِّ،
لِذلِكَ هكَذَا قَالَ الرَّبُّ إِلهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنِ الرُّعَاةِ الَّذِينَ يَرْعَوْنَ شَعْبِي: أَنْتُمْ بَدَّدْتُمْ غَنَمِي وَطَرَدْتُمُوهَا وَلَمْ تَتَعَهَّدُوهَا. هأَنَذَا أُعَاقِبُكُمْ عَلَى شَرِّ أَعْمَالِكُمْ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ.
