conversation--"manner of life." The love of filthy lust and the love of filthy lucre follow one another as closely akin, both alienating the heart from the Creator to the creature. such things as ye have--literally, "present things" (Phi 4:11). I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee--A promise tantamount to this was given to Jacob (Gen 28:15), to Israel (Deu 31:6, Deu 31:8), to Joshua (Jos 1:5), to Solomon (Ch1 28:20). It is therefore like a divine adage. What was said to them, extends also to us. He will neither withdraw His presence ("never leave thee") nor His help ("nor forsake thee") [BENGEL].

Perhaps some in the community were under financial strain (see Heb 10:32-34). The promises of God still stand: “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you” (see Deut 31:6, 8).

وَالرَّبُّ سَائِرٌ أَمَامَكَ. هُوَ يَكُونُ مَعَكَ. لاَ يُهْمِلُكَ وَلاَ يَتْرُكُكَ. لاَ تَخَفْ وَلاَ تَرْتَعِبْ».
لاَ يَقِفُ إِنْسَانٌ فِي وَجْهِكَ كُلَّ أَيَّامِ حَيَاتِكَ. كَمَا كُنْتُ مَعَ مُوسَى أَكُونُ مَعَكَ. لاَ أُهْمِلُكَ وَلاَ أَتْرُكُكَ.
تَشَدَّدُوا وَتَشَجَّعُوا. لاَ تَخَافُوا وَلاَ تَرْهَبُوا وُجُوهَهُمْ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلهَكَ سَائِرٌ مَعَكَ. لاَ يُهْمِلُكَ وَلاَ يَتْرُكُكَ».
لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَتْرُكُ الرَّبُّ شَعْبَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ اسْمِهِ الْعَظِيمِ. لأَنَّهُ قَدْ شَاءَ الرَّبُّ أَنْ يَجْعَلَكُمْ لَهُ شَعْبًا.
«اَلْبَائِسُونَ وَالْمَسَاكِينُ طَالِبُونَ مَاءً وَلاَ يُوجَدُ. لِسَانُهُمْ مِنَ الْعَطَشِ قَدْ يَبِسَ. أَنَا الرَّبُّ أَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُمْ. أَنَا إِلهَ إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ أَتْرُكُهُمْ.
أَيْضًا كُنْتُ فَتىً وَقَدْ شِخْتُ، وَلَمْ أَرَ صِدِّيقًا تُخُلِّيَ عَنْهُ، وَلاَ ذُرِّيَّةً لَهُ تَلْتَمِسُ خُبْزًا.
لاَ تَخَفْ لأَنِّي مَعَكَ. لاَ تَتَلَفَّتْ لأَنِّي إِلهُكَ. قَدْ أَيَّدْتُكَ وَأَعَنْتُكَ وَعَضَدْتُكَ بِيَمِينِ بِرِّي.
وَقَالَ دَاوُدُ لِسُلَيْمَانَ ابْنِهِ: «تَشَدَّدْ وَتَشَجَّعْ وَاعْمَلْ. لاَ تَخَفْ وَلاَ تَرْتَعِبْ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ الإِلهَ إِلهِي مَعَكَ. لاَ يَخْذُلُكَ وَلاَ يَتْرُكُكَ حَتَّى تُكَمِّلَ كُلَّ عَمَلِ خِدْمَةِ بَيْتِ الرَّبِّ.
«لِذلِكَ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: لاَ تَهْتَمُّوا لِحَيَاتِكُمْ بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَبِمَا تَشْرَبُونَ، وَلاَ لأَجْسَادِكُمْ بِمَا تَلْبَسُونَ. أَلَيْسَتِ الْحَيَاةُ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، وَالْجَسَدُ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ اللِّبَاسِ؟
وَهَا أَنَا مَعَكَ، وَأَحْفَظُكَ حَيْثُمَا تَذْهَبُ، وَأَرُدُّكَ إِلَى هذِهِ الأَرْضِ، لأَنِّي لاَ أَتْرُكُكَ حَتَّى أَفْعَلَ مَا كَلَّمْتُكَ بِهِ».
