وَاصْنَعُوا لأَرْجُلِكُمْ مَسَالِكَ مُسْتَقِيمَةً، لِكَيْ لاَ يَعْتَسِفَ الأَعْرَجُ، بَلْ بِالْحَرِيِّ يُشْفَى.

Quoted from Pro 4:26, Septuagint, "Make straight paths for thy feet." straight--that is, leading by a straight road to joy and grace (Heb 12:1-2, Heb 12:15). Cease to "halt" between Judaism and Christianity [BENGEL]. paths--literally, "wheel tracks." Let your walk be so firm and so unanimous in the right direction that a plain track and "highway" may be thereby established for those who accompany and follow you, to perceive and walk in (Isa 35:8) [ALFORD]. that which is lame--those "weak in the faith" (Rom 14:1), having still Judaizing prejudices. be turned out of the way-- (Pro 4:27); and, so missing the way, lose the prize of "the race" (Heb 12:1). rather he healed--Proper exercise of itself contributes to health; the habit of walking straight onward in the right way tends to healing.

From a greater example than he had yet mentioned, and that is Christ himself (Heb 12:1-3). II. From the gentle and gracious nature of the afflictions they endured in their Christian course (Heb 12:4-17). III. From the communion and conformity between the state of the gospel-church on earth and the triumphant church in heaven (Heb 12:18 to the end).

أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، إِنِ انْسَبَقَ إِنْسَانٌ فَأُخِذَ فِي زَلَّةٍ مَا، فَأَصْلِحُوا أَنْتُمُ الرُّوحَانِيِّينَ مِثْلَ هذَا بِرُوحِ الْوَدَاعَةِ، نَاظِرًا إِلَى نَفْسِكَ لِئَلاَّ تُجَرَّبَ أَنْتَ أَيْضًا.
شَدِّدُوا الأَيَادِيَ الْمُسْتَرْخِيَةَ، وَالرُّكَبَ الْمُرْتَعِشَةَ ثَبِّتُوهَا.
حِينَئِذٍ يَقْفِزُ الأَعْرَجُ كَالإِيَّلِ وَيَتَرَنَّمُ لِسَانُ الأَخْرَسِ، لأَنَّهُ قَدِ انْفَجَرَتْ فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ مِيَاهٌ، وَأَنْهَارٌ فِي الْقَفْرِ.
اِعْتَرِفُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ بِالزَّّلاَتِ، وَصَلُّوا بَعْضُكُمْ لأَجْلِ بَعْضٍ، لِكَيْ تُشْفَوْا. طَلِبَةُ الْبَارِّ تَقْتَدِرُ كَثِيرًا فِي فِعْلِهَا.
كُلُّ وَادٍ يَمْتَلِئُ، وَكُلُّ جَبَل وَأَكَمَةٍ يَنْخَفِضُ، وَتَصِيرُ الْمُعْوَجَّاتُ مُسْتَقِيمَةً، وَالشِّعَابُ طُرُقًا سَهْلَةً،
وَأُسَيِّرُ الْعُمْيَ فِي طَرِيق لَمْ يَعْرِفُوهَا. فِي مَسَالِكَ لَمْ يَدْرُوهَا أُمَشِّيهِمْ. أَجْعَلُ الظُّلْمَةَ أَمَامَهُمْ نُورًا، وَالْمُعْوَجَّاتِ مُسْتَقِيمَةً. هذِهِ الأُمُورُ أَفْعَلُهَا وَلاَ أَتْرُكُهُمْ.
لأَنَّ شَعْبِي قَدْ نَسِيَني! بَخَّرُوا لِلْبَاطِلِ، وَقَدْ أَعْثَرُوهُمْ فِي طُرُقِهِمْ، فِي السُّبُلِ الْقَدِيمَةِ لِيَسْلُكُوا فِي شُعَبٍ، فِي طَرِيق غَيْرِ مُسَهَّل،
وَمِنْكَ تُبْنَى الْخِرَبُ الْقَدِيمَةُ. تُقِيمُ أَسَاسَاتِ دَوْرٍ فَدَوْرٍ، فَيُسَمُّونَكَ: مُرَمِّمَ الثُّغْرَةِ، مُرْجعَ الْمَسَالِكِ لِلسُّكْنَى.
