busy bodies--In the Greek the similarity of sound marks the antithesis, "Doing none of their own business, yet overdoing in the business of others." Busy about everyone's business but their own. "Nature abhors a vacuum"; so if not doing one's own business, one is apt to meddle with his neighbor's business. Idleness is the parent of busybodies (Ti1 5:13). Contrast Th1 4:11.
افتح المصدر ↗In the close of the foregoing chapter, the apostle had prayed earnestly for the Thessalonians, and now he desires their prayers, encouraging them to trust in God, to which he subjoins another petition for them (Th2 3:1-5). He then proceeds to give them commands and directions for correcting some things he was informed were amiss among them (Th2 3:6-15) and concludes with benedictions and prayers (Th2 3:16-18).

وَمَعَ ذلِكَ أَيْضًا يَتَعَلَّمْنَ أَنْ يَكُنَّ بَطَّالاَتٍ، يَطُفْنَ فِي الْبُيُوتِ. وَلَسْنَ بَطَّالاَتٍ فَقَطْ بَلْ مِهْذَارَاتٌ أَيْضًا، وَفُضُولِيَّاتٌ، يَتَكَلَّمْنَ بِمَا لاَ يَجِبُ.
ثُمَّ نُوصِيكُمْ أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، بِاسْمِ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، أَنْ تَتَجَنَّبُوا كُلَّ أَخٍ يَسْلُكُ بِلاَ تَرْتِيبٍ، وَلَيْسَ حَسَبَ التَّعْلِيمِ الَّذِي أَخَذَهُ مِنَّا.
وَأَنْ تَحْرِصُوا عَلَى أَنْ تَكُونُوا هَادِئِينَ، وَتُمَارِسُوا أُمُورَكُمُ الْخَاصَّةَ، وَتَشْتَغِلُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ أَنْتُمْ كَمَا أَوْصَيْنَاكُمْ،
فَلاَ يَتَأَلَّمْ أَحَدُكُمْ كَقَاتِل، أَوْ سَارِق، أَوْ فَاعِلِ شَرّ، أَوْ مُتَدَاخِل فِي أُمُورِ غَيْرِهِ.
