اَلآنَ أَنَا أَفْرَحُ، لاَ لأَنَّكُمْ حَزِنْتُمْ، بَلْ لأَنَّكُمْ حَزِنْتُمْ لِلتَّوْبَةِ. لأَنَّكُمْ حَزِنْتُمْ بِحَسَبِ مَشِيئَةِ اللهِ لِكَيْ لاَ تَتَخَسَّرُوا مِنَّا فِي شَيْءٍ.

Now I rejoice--Whereas "I did repent" or regret having made you sorry by my letter, I rejoice NOW, not that ye were caused sorrow, but that your sorrow resulted in your repentance. ye sorrowed--rather, as before, "ye were made sorry." after a godly manner--literally, "according to God," that is, your sorrow having regard to God, and rendering your mind conformable to God (Rom 14:22; Pe1 4:6). that--Translate in Greek order, "to the end that (compare Co2 11:9) ye might in nothing receive damage from us," which ye would have received, had your sorrow been other than that "after a godly manner" (Co2 7:10).
افتح المصدر ↗This chapter begins with an exhortation to progressive holiness and a due regard to the ministers of the gospel (Co2 7:1-4). Then the apostle returns from a long digression to speak further of the affair concerning the incestuous person, and tells them what comfort he received in his distress about that matter, upon his meeting with Titus (Co2 7:5-7), and how re rejoiced in their repentance, with the evidences thereof (Co2 7:8-11). And, lastly, he concludes with endeavouring to comfort the Corinthians, upon whom his admonitions had had so good an effect (Co2 7:12-16).
افتح المصدر ↗7:9-10 Two kinds of sorrow are mentioned: (1) Worldly sorrow that lacks repentance leads to spiritual death (e.g., see Matt 27:3-6; Heb 12:16-17). (2) Sorrow that leads us away from sin leads to salvation, as it did when the church in Corinth responded positively to Paul’s rebuke.

أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنَّهُ هكَذَا يَكُونُ فَرَحٌ فِي السَّمَاءِ بِخَاطِئٍ وَاحِدٍ يَتُوبُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ تِسْعَةٍ وَتِسْعِينَ بَارًّا لاَ يَحْتَاجُونَ إِلَى تَوْبَةٍ.

«وَأُفِيضُ عَلَى بَيْتِ دَاوُدَ وَعَلَى سُكَّانِ أُورُشَلِيمَ رُوحَ النِّعْمَةِ وَالتَّضَرُّعَاتِ، فَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيَّ، الَّذِي طَعَنُوهُ، وَيَنُوحُونَ عَلَيْهِ كَنَائِحٍ عَلَى وَحِيدٍ لَهُ، وَيَكُونُونَ فِي مَرَارَةٍ عَلَيْهِ كَمَنْ هُوَ فِي مَرَارَةٍ عَلَى بِكْرِهِ.
هكَذَا، أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: يَكُونُ فَرَحٌ قُدَّامَ مَلاَئِكَةِ اللهِ بِخَاطِئٍ وَاحِدٍ يَتُوبُ.
لأَنَّ فَخْرَنَا هُوَ هذَا: شَهَادَةُ ضَمِيرِنَا أَنَّنَا فِي بَسَاطَةٍ وَإِخْلاَصِ اللهِ، لاَ فِي حِكْمَةٍ جَسَدِيَّةٍ بَلْ فِي نِعْمَةِ اللهِ، تَصَرَّفْنَا فِي الْعَالَمِ، وَلاَ سِيَّمَا مِنْ نَحْوِكُمْ.
شَاهِدًا لِلْيَهُودِ وَالْيُونَانِيِّينَ بِالتَّوْبَةِ إِلَى اللهِ وَالإِيمَانِ الَّذِي بِرَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.
وَلكِنْ كَانَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ نَفْرَحَ وَنُسَرَّ، لأَنَّ أَخَاكَ هذَا كَانَ مَيِّتًا فَعَاشَ، وَكَانَ ضَالُا فَوُجِدَ».
لِهؤُلاَءِ رَائِحَةُ مَوْتٍ لِمَوْتٍ، وَلأُولئِكَ رَائِحَةُ حَيَاةٍ لِحَيَاةٍ. وَمَنْ هُوَ كُفْوءٌ لِهذِهِ الأُمُورِ؟
