when he had received meat, he was strengthened--for the exhaustion occasioned by his three days' fast would not be the less real, though unfelt during his struggles. (See on Mat 4:2). Then was Saul certain days with the disciples at Damascus--making their acquaintance, in another way than either he or they had anticipated, and regaining his tone by the fellowship of the saints; but not certainly in order to learn from them what he was to teach, which he expressly disavows (Gal 1:12, Gal 1:16).
افتح المصدر ↗In this chapter we have, I. The famous story of St. Paul's conversion from being an outrageous persecutor of the gospel of Christ to be an illustrious professor and preacher of it. I. How he was first awakened and wrought upon by an appearance of Christ himself to him as he was going upon an errand of persecution to Damascus: and what a condition he was in while he lay under the power of those convictions and terrors (Act 9:1-9). 2. How he was baptized by Ananias, by immediate directions from heaven (Act 9:10-19). 3. How he immediately commenced doctor, and preached the faith of Christ, and proved what he preached (Act 9:20-22). 4. How he was persecuted, and narrowly escaped with his life (Act 9:23-25). 5. بَلْ أَخْبَرْتُ أَوَّلاً الَّذِينَ فِي دِمَشْقَ، وَفِي أُورُشَلِيمَ حَتَّى جَمِيعِ كُورَةِ الْيَهُودِيَّةِ، ثُمَّ الأُمَمَ، أَنْ يَتُوبُوا وَيَرْجِعُوا إِلَى اللهِ عَامِلِينَ أَعْمَالاً تَلِيقُ بِالتَّوْبَةِ.
وَلاَ صَعِدْتُ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، إِلَى الرُّسُلِ الَّذِينَ قَبْلِي، بَلِ انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى الْعَرَبِيَّةِ، ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ أَيْضًا إِلَى دِمَشْقَ.
وَأَعْطَوْهُ قُرْصًا مِنَ التِّينِ وَعُنْقُودَيْنِ مِنَ الزَّبِيبِ، فَأَكَلَ وَرَجَعَتْ رُوحُهُ إِلَيْهِ، لأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَأْكُلْ خُبْزًا وَلاَ شَرِبَ مَاءً فِي ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ وَثَلاَثِ لَيَال.
اِذْهَبْ كُلْ خُبْزَكَ بِفَرَحٍ، وَاشْرَبْ خَمْرَكَ بِقَلْبٍ طَيِّبٍ، لأَنَّ اللهَ مُنْذُ زَمَانٍ قَدْ رَضِيَ عَمَلَكَ.
فَحَدَثَ أَنَّهُمَا اجْتَمَعَا فِي الْكَنِيسَةِ سَنَةً كَامِلَةً وَعَلَّمَا جَمْعًا غَفِيرًا. وَدُعِيَ التَّلاَمِيذُ «مَسِيحِيِّينَ» فِي أَنْطَاكِيَةَ أَوَّلاً.
