فَكَانَ الْيَهُودُ يَتَذَمَّرُونَ عَلَيْهِ لأَنَّهُ قَالَ:«أَنَا هُوَ الْخُبْزُ الَّذِي نَزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ».

Jews murmured--muttered, not in our Lord's hearing, but He knew it (Joh 6:43; Joh 2:25). he said, I am the bread, &c.--Missing the sense and glory of this, and having no relish for such sublimities, they harp upon the "Bread from heaven." "What can this mean? Do we not know all about Him--where, when, and of whom He was born? And yet He says He came down from heaven!"

لأَنَّ خُبْزَ اللهِ هُوَ النَّازِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ الْوَاهِبُ حَيَاةً لِلْعَالَمِ».
أَنَا هُوَ خُبْزُ الْحَيَاةِ.
وَكَانَ فِي الْجُمُوعِ مُنَاجَاةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ مِنْ نَحْوِهِ. بَعْضُهُمْ يَقُولُونَ:«إِنَّهُ صَالِحٌ». وَآخَرُونَ يَقُولُونَ:«لاَ، بَلْ يُضِلُّ الشَّعْبَ».
فَقَالَ كَثِيرُونَ مِنْ تَلاَمِيذِهِ، إِذْ سَمِعُوا:«إِنَّ هذَا الْكَلاَمَ صَعْبٌ! مَنْ يَقْدِرُ أَنْ يَسْمَعَهُ؟»
مِنْ هذَا الْوَقْتِ رَجَعَ كَثِيرُونَ مِنْ تَلاَمِيذِهِ إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ، وَلَمْ يَعُودُوا يَمْشُونَ مَعَهُ.
هؤُلاَءِ هُمْ مُدَمْدِمُونَ مُتَشَكُّونَ، سَالِكُونَ بِحَسَبِ شَهَوَاتِهِمْ، وَفَمُهُمْ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِعَظَائِمَ، يُحَابُونَ بِالْوُجُوهِ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْمَنْفَعَةِ.
فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْجَمِيعُ ذلِكَ تَذَمَّرُوا قَائِلِينَ: «إِنَّهُ دَخَلَ لِيَبِيتَ عِنْدَ رَجُل خَاطِئٍ».
فَتَذَمَّرَ الْفَرِّيسِيُّونَ وَالْكَتَبَةُ قَائِلِينَ:«هذَا يَقْبَلُ خُطَاةً وَيَأْكُلُ مَعَهُمْ!».
هذَا هُوَ الْخُبْزُ الَّذِي نَزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ. لَيْسَ كَمَا أَكَلَ آبَاؤُكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَمَاتُوا. مَنْ يَأْكُلْ هذَا الْخُبْزَ فَإِنَّهُ يَحْيَا إِلَى الأَبَدِ».
فَتَذَمَّرَ كَتَبَتُهُمْ وَالْفَرِّيسِيُّونَ عَلَى تَلاَمِيذِهِ قَائِلِينَ:«لِمَاذَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَتَشْرَبُونَ مَعَ عَشَّارِينَ وَخُطَاةٍ؟»
