ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ:«حِينَ أَرْسَلْتُكُمْ بِلاَ كِيسٍ وَلاَ مِزْوَدٍ وَلاَ أَحْذِيَةٍ، هَلْ أَعْوَزَكُمْ شَيْءٌ؟» فَقَالُوا: «لاَ».
اتَّكِلْ عَلَى الرَّبِّ وَافْعَلِ الْخَيْرَ. اسْكُنِ الأَرْضَ وَارْعَ الأَمَانَةَ.
لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ وَهُوَ يَتَجَنَّدُ يَرْتَبِكُ بِأَعْمَالِ الْحَيَاةِ لِكَيْ يُرْضِيَ مَنْ جَنَّدَهُ.
وَقَالَ لِتَلاَمِيذِهِ:«مِنْ أَجْلِ هذَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: لاَ تَهْتَمُّوا لِحَيَاتِكُمْ بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ، وَلاَ لِلْجَسَدِ بِمَا تَلْبَسُونَ.
فَأَجَابَ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ:«مَنْ لَهُ ثَوْبَانِ فَلْيُعْطِ مَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ، وَمَنْ لَهُ طَعَامٌ فَلْيَفْعَلْ هكَذَا».
وَصَنَعَ لَهُ لاَوِي ضِيَافَةً كَبِيرَةً فِي بَيْتِهِ. وَالَّذِينَ كَانُوا مُتَّكِئِينَ مَعَهُمْ كَانُوا جَمْعًا كَثِيرًا مِنْ عَشَّارِينَ وَآخَرِينَ.
فَإِنْ كَانَ الْعُشْبُ الَّذِي يُوجَدُ الْيَوْمَ فِي الْحَقْلِ وَيُطْرَحُ غَدًا فِي التَّنُّورِ يُلْبِسُهُ اللهُ هكَذَا، فَكَمْ بِالْحَرِيِّ يُلْبِسُكُمْ أَنْتُمْ يَا قَلِيلِي الإِيمَانِ؟
