وَلَمَّا جَاءُوا بِالسَّفِينَتَيْنِ إِلَى الْبَرِّ تَرَكُوا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَتَبِعُوهُ.

forsook all--They did this before (Mat 4:20); now they do it again; and yet after the Crucifixion they are at their boats once more (Joh 21:3). In such a business this is easily conceivable. After pentecost, however, they appear to have finally abandoned their secular calling.

فَلِلْوَقْتِ تَرَكَا الشِّبَاكَ وَتَبِعَاهُ.
فَتَرَكَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَقَامَ وَتَبِعَهُ.
فَأَجَابَ بُطْرُسُ حِينَئِذٍ وَقَالَ لَهُ:«هَا نَحْنُ قَدْ تَرَكْنَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَتَبِعْنَاكَ. فَمَاذَا يَكُونُ لَنَا؟»
فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ يَسُوعُ وَأَحَبَّهُ، وَقَالَ لَهُ:«يُعْوِزُكَ شَيْءٌ وَاحِدٌ: اِذْهَبْ بِعْ كُلَّ مَا لَكَ وَأَعْطِ الْفُقَرَاءَ، فَيَكُونَ لَكَ كَنْزٌ فِي السَّمَاءِ، وَتَعَالَ اتْبَعْنِي حَامِلاً الصَّلِيبَ».
مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَبًا أَوْ أُمًّا أَكْثَرَ مِنِّي فَلاَ يَسْتَحِقُّنِي، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ ابْنًا أَوِ ابْنَةً أَكْثَرَ مِنِّي فَلاَ يَسْتَحِقُّنِي،
