اُنْظُرُوا يَدَيَّ وَرِجْلَيَّ: إِنِّي أَنَا هُوَ! جُسُّونِي وَانْظُرُوا، فَإِنَّ الرُّوحَ لَيْسَ لَهُ لَحْمٌ وَعِظَامٌ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ لِي».

Behold, &c.--lovingly offering them both ocular and tangible demonstration of the reality of His resurrection. a spirit hath not--an important statement regarding "spirits." flesh and bones--He says not "flesh and blood"; for the blood is the life of the animal and corruptible body (Gen 9:4), which "cannot inherit the kingdom of God" (Co1 15:50); but "flesh and bones," implying the identity, but with diversity of laws, of the resurrection body. (See on Joh 20:24-28).

The farewell he gave them, his ascension into heaven, and the joy and praise of his disciples whom he left behind (Luk 24:50-53).

فَخَرَّا عَلَى وَجْهَيْهِمَا وَقَالاَ: «اللّهُمَّ، إِلهَ أَرْوَاحِ جَمِيعِ الْبَشَرِ، هَلْ يُخْطِئُ رَجُلٌ وَاحِدٌ فَتَسْخَطَ عَلَى كُلِّ الْجَمَاعَةِ؟»
وَإِلهُ السَّلاَمِ نَفْسُهُ يُقَدِّسُكُمْ بِالتَّمَامِ. وَلْتُحْفَظْ رُوحُكُمْ وَنَفْسُكُمْ وَجَسَدُكُمْ كَامِلَةً بِلاَ لَوْمٍ عِنْدَ مَجِيءِ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.
فَقَالَ لَهُ التَّلاَمِيذُ الآخَرُونَ:«قَدْ رَأَيْنَا الرَّبَّ!». فَقَالَ لَهُمْ:«إِنْ لَمْ أُبْصِرْ فِي يَدَيْهِ أَثَرَ الْمَسَامِيرِ، وَأَضَعْ إِصْبِعِي فِي أَثَرِ الْمَسَامِيرِ، وَأَضَعْ يَدِي فِي جَنْبِهِ، لاَ أُومِنْ».
ثُمَّ قَدْ كَانَ لَنَا آبَاءُ أَجْسَادِنَا مُؤَدِّبِينَ، وَكُنَّا نَهَابُهُمْ. أَفَلاَ نَخْضَعُ بِالأَوْلَى جِدًّا لأَبِي الأَرْوَاحِ، فَنَحْيَا؟
اَلَّذِينَ أَرَاهُمْ أَيْضًا نَفْسَهُ حَيًّا بِبَرَاهِينَ كَثِيرَةٍ، بَعْدَ مَا تَأَلَّمَ، وَهُوَ يَظْهَرُ لَهُمْ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا، وَيَتَكَلَّمُ عَنِ الأُمُورِ الْمُخْتَصَّةِ بِمَلَكُوتِ اللهِ.
وَنَادَى يَسُوعُ بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ وَقَالَ: «يَا أَبَتَاهُ، فِي يَدَيْكَ أَسْتَوْدِعُ رُوحِي». وَلَمَّا قَالَ هذَا أَسْلَمَ الرُّوحَ.
