وَأَخَذَ خُبْزًا وَشَكَرَ وَكَسَّرَ وَأَعْطَاهُمْ قَائِلاً: «هذَا هُوَ جَسَدِي الَّذِي يُبْذَلُ عَنْكُمْ. اِصْنَعُوا هذَا لِذِكْرِي».

In this chapter we have, I. The plot to take Jesus, and Judas's coming into it (Luk 22:1-6). II. Christ's eating the passover with his disciples (Luk 22:7-18). III. The instituting of the Lord's supper (Luk 22:19, Luk 22:20). IV. Christ's discourse with his disciples after supper, upon several heads (v. 21-38). V. His agony in the garden (Luk 22:39-46). VI. The apprehending of him, by the assistance of Judas (Luk 22:47-53). VII. Peter's denying him (Luk 22:54-62). VIII. His death would pay for the sins of the world (cp. 1 Cor 11:24-25).

كَأْسُ الْبَرَكَةِ الَّتِي نُبَارِكُهَا، أَلَيْسَتْ هِيَ شَرِكَةَ دَمِ الْمَسِيحِ؟ الْخُبْزُ الَّذِي نَكْسِرُهُ، أَلَيْسَ هُوَ شَرِكَةَ جَسَدِ الْمَسِيحِ؟
وَكَذلِكَ الْكَأْسَ أَيْضًا بَعْدَ الْعَشَاءِ قَائِلاً:«هذِهِ الْكَأْسُ هِيَ الْعَهْدُ الْجَدِيدُ بِدَمِي الَّذِي يُسْفَكُ عَنْكُمْ.
وَجَمِيعَهُمْ شَرِبُوا شَرَابًا وَاحِدًا رُوحِيًّا، لأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَشْرَبُونَ مِنْ صَخْرَةٍ رُوحِيَّةٍ تَابِعَتِهِمْ، وَالصَّخْرَةُ كَانَتِ الْمَسِيحَ.
صَنَعَ ذِكْرًا لِعَجَائِبِهِ. حَنَّانٌ وَرَحِيمٌ هُوَ الرَّبُّ.
الَّذِي بَذَلَ نَفْسَهُ لأَجْلِنَا، لِكَيْ يَفْدِيَنَا مِنْ كُلِّ إِثْمٍ، وَيُطَهِّرَ لِنَفْسِهِ شَعْبًا خَاصًّا غَيُورًا فِي أَعْمَال حَسَنَةٍ.
أَنَا هُوَ الْخُبْزُ الْحَيُّ الَّذِي نَزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ. إِنْ أَكَلَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ هذَا الْخُبْزِ يَحْيَا إِلَى الأَبَدِ. وَالْخُبْزُ الَّذِي أَنَا أُعْطِي هُوَ جَسَدِي الَّذِي أَبْذِلُهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ حَيَاةِ الْعَالَمِ».
الَّذِي بَذَلَ نَفْسَهُ لأَجْلِ خَطَايَانَا، لِيُنْقِذَنَا مِنَ الْعَالَمِ الْحَاضِرِ الشِّرِّيرِ حَسَبَ إِرَادَةِ اللهِ وَأَبِينَا،
فَلَمَّا اتَّكَأَ مَعَهُمَا، أَخَذَ خُبْزًا وَبَارَكَ وَكَسَّرَ وَنَاوَلَهُمَا،
وَاسْلُكُوا فِي الْمَحَبَّةِ كَمَا أَحَبَّنَا الْمَسِيحُ أَيْضًا وَأَسْلَمَ نَفْسَهُ لأَجْلِنَا، قُرْبَانًا وَذَبِيحَةً للهِ رَائِحَةً طَيِّبَةً.
الَّذِي حَمَلَ هُوَ نَفْسُهُ خَطَايَانَا فِي جَسَدِهِ عَلَى الْخَشَبَةِ، لِكَيْ نَمُوتَ عَنِ الْخَطَايَا فَنَحْيَا لِلْبِرِّ. الَّذِي بِجَلْدَتِهِ شُفِيتُمْ.
