أَفَلاَ يُنْصِفُ اللهُ مُخْتَارِيهِ، الصَّارِخِينَ إِلَيْهِ نَهَارًا وَلَيْلاً، وَهُوَ مُتَمَهِّلٌ عَلَيْهِمْ؟

shall not God--not unjust, but the infinitely righteous Judge. avenge--redeem from oppression. his own elect--not like this widow, the object of indifference and contempt, but dear to Him as the apple of the eye (Zac 2:8). cry day and night--whose every cry enters into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth (Jam 5:4), and how much more their incessant and persevering cries! bear long with them--rather, "in their case," or "on their account" (as) Jam 5:7, "for it"), [GROTIUS, DE WETTE, &c.].

V. Christ's foretelling his own death and sufferings (Luk 18:31-34). VI. His restoring sight to a blind man (Luk 18:35-43). And these four passages we had before in Matthew and Mark.

Pلاَ يَتَبَاطَأُ الرَّبُّ عَنْ وَعْدِهِ كَمَا يَحْسِبُ قَوْمٌ التَّبَاطُؤَ، لكِنَّهُ يَتَأَنَّى عَلَيْنَا، وَهُوَ لاَ يَشَاءُ أَنْ يَهْلِكَ أُنَاسٌ، بَلْ أَنْ يُقْبِلَ الْجَمِيعُ إِلَى التَّوْبَةِ. P
فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ أَشْرَارٌ تَعْرِفُونَ أَنْ تُعْطُوا أَوْلاَدَكُمْ عَطَايَا جَيِّدَةً، فَكَمْ بِالْحَرِيِّ الآبُ الَّذِي مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، يُعْطِي الرُّوحَ الْقُدُسَ لِلَّذِينَ يَسْأَلُونَهُ؟».
وَلكِنَّ الَّتِي هِيَ بِالْحَقِيقَةِ أَرْمَلَةٌ وَوَحِيدَةٌ، فَقَدْ أَلْقَتْ رَجَاءَهَا عَلَى اللهِ، وَهِيَ تُواظِبُ الطِّلِبَاتِ وَالصَّلَوَاتِ لَيْلاً وَنَهَارًا.
إِذْ هُوَ عَادِلٌ عِنْدَ اللهِ أَنَّ الَّذِينَ يُضَايِقُونَكُمْ يُجَازِيهِمْ ضِيقًا،
وَصَرَخُوا بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ قَائِلِينَ:«حَتَّى مَتَى أَيُّهَا السَّيِّدُ الْقُدُّوسُ وَالْحَقُّ، لاَ تَقْضِي وَتَنْتَقِمُ لِدِمَائِنَا مِنَ السَّاكِنِينَ عَلَى الأَرْضِ؟»
وَهِيَ أَرْمَلَةٌ نَحْوَ أَرْبَعٍ وَثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً، لاَ تُفَارِقُ الْهَيْكَلَ، عَابِدَةً بِأَصْوَامٍ وَطَلِبَاتٍ لَيْلاً وَنَهَارًا.
لأَنَّ الرُّؤْيَا بَعْدُ إِلَى الْمِيعَادِ، وَفِي النِّهَايَةِ تَتَكَلَّمُ وَلاَ تَكْذِبُ. إِنْ تَوَانَتْ فَانْتَظِرْهَا لأَنَّهَا سَتَأْتِي إِتْيَانًا وَلاَ تَتَأَخَّرُ.
فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ أَشْرَارٌ تَعْرِفُونَ أَنْ تُعْطُوا أَوْلاَدَكُمْ عَطَايَا جَيِّدَةً، فَكَمْ بِالْحَرِيِّ أَبُوكُمُ الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ، يَهَبُ خَيْرَاتٍ لِلَّذِينَ يَسْأَلُونَهُ!
يَا رَبُّ إِلهَ خَلاَصِي، بِالنَّهَارِ وَاللَّيْلِ صَرَخْتُ أَمَامَكَ،
مَنْ سَيَشْتَكِي عَلَى مُخْتَارِي اللهِ؟ اَللهُ هُوَ الَّذِي يُبَرِّرُ.
