Lord--(See on Luk 10:1). increase our faith--moved by the difficulty of avoiding and forgiving "offenses." This is the only instance in which a spiritual operation upon their souls was solicited of Christ by the Twelve; but a kindred and higher prayer had been offered before, by one with far fewer opportunities. (See on Mar 9:24.)

Some particular discourses which Christ had with his disciples, in which he teaches them to take heed of giving offence, and to forgive the injuries done them (Luk 17:1-4), encourages them to pray for the increase of their faith (Luk 17:5, Luk 17:6), and then teaches them humility, whatever service they had done for God (Luk 17:7-10). II. His cleansing ten lepers, and the thanks he had from one of them only, and he a Samaritan (Luk 17:11-19). III. His discourse with his disciples, upon occasion of an enquiry of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should appear (v. 20-37).

فَلِلْوَقْتِ صَرَخَ أَبُو الْوَلَدِ بِدُمُوعٍ وَقَالَ:«أُومِنُ يَا سَيِّدُ، فَأَعِنْ عَدَمَ إِيمَانِي».
نَاظِرِينَ إِلَى رَئِيسِ الإِيمَانِ وَمُكَمِّلِهِ يَسُوعَ، الَّذِي مِنْ أَجْلِ السُّرُورِ الْمَوْضُوعِ أَمَامَهُ، احْتَمَلَ الصَّلِيبَ مُسْتَهِينًا بِالْخِزْيِ، فَجَلَسَ فِي يَمِينِ عَرْشِ اللهِ.
أَسْتَطِيعُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فِي الْمَسِيحِ الَّذِي يُقَوِّينِي.
يَنْبَغِي لَنَا أَنْ نَشْكُرَ اللهَ كُلَّ حِينٍ مِنْ جِهَتِكُمْ أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ كَمَا يَحِقُّ، لأَنَّ إِيمَانَكُمْ يَنْمُو كَثِيرًا، وَمَحَبَّةُ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْكُمْ جَمِيعًا بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ تَزْدَادُ،
وَاجْتَمَعَ الرُّسُلُ إِلَى يَسُوعَ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ، كُلِّ مَا فَعَلُوا وَكُلِّ مَا عَلَّمُوا.
فَلَمَّا رَآهَا الرَّبُّ تَحَنَّنَ عَلَيْهَا، وَقَالَ لَهَا:«لاَ تَبْكِي».
