show yourselves--as cleansed persons. (See on Mat 8:4.) Thus too would the Samaritan be taught that "salvation is of the Jews" (Joh 4:22). as they went, were cleansed--In how many different ways were our Lord's cures wrought, and this different from all the rest.

Some particular discourses which Christ had with his disciples, in which he teaches them to take heed of giving offence, and to forgive the injuries done them (Luk 17:1-4), encourages them to pray for the increase of their faith (Luk 17:5, Luk 17:6), and then teaches them humility, whatever service they had done for God (Luk 17:7-10). II. His cleansing ten lepers, and the thanks he had from one of them only, and he a Samaritan (Luk 17:11-19). III. فَأَوْصَاهُ أَنْ لاَ يَقُولَ لأَحَدٍ. بَلِ «امْضِ وَأَرِ نَفْسَكَ لِلْكَاهِنِ، وَقَدِّمْ عَنْ تَطْهِيرِكَ كَمَا أَمَرَ مُوسَى شَهَادَةً لَهُمْ».
فَنَزَلَ وَغَطَسَ فِي الأُرْدُنِّ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ، حَسَبَ قَوْلِ رَجُلِ اللهِ، فَرَجَعَ لَحْمُهُ كَلَحْمِ صَبِيٍّ صَغِيرٍ وَطَهُرَ.
فَأَجَابَ يَسُوعُ وَقَالَ لَهُ:«اسْمَحِ الآنَ، لأَنَّهُ هكَذَا يَلِيقُ بِنَا أَنْ نُكَمِّلَ كُلَّ بِرّ». حِينَئِذٍ سَمَحَ لَهُ.
وَلكِنْ إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ يَمْشِي فِي اللَّيْلِ يَعْثُرُ، لأَنَّ النُّورَ لَيْسَ فِيهِ».
وَقَالَ لَهُ: «اذْهَبِ اغْتَسِلْ فِي بِرْكَةِ سِلْوَامَ» الَّذِي تَفْسِيرُهُ: مُرْسَلٌ، فَمَضَى وَاغْتَسَلَ وَأَتَى بَصِيرًا.
وَيَكُونُ أَنِّي قَبْلَمَا يَدْعُونَ أَنَا أُجِيبُ، وَفِيمَا هُمْ يَتَكَلَّمُونَ بَعْدُ أَنَا أَسْمَعُ.
قَالَتْ أُمُّهُ لِلْخُدَّامِ:«مَهْمَا قَالَ لَكُمْ فَافْعَلُوهُ».
