تأمّل عميق بلغةٍ واضحة على هذه الآية. اقرأ الأصحاح
وَلكِنْ لِكَيْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ لابْنِ الإِنْسَانِ سُلْطَانًا عَلَى الأَرْضِ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ الْخَطَايَا». قَالَ لِلْمَفْلُوجِ:

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins--that forgiving power dwells in the Person of this Man, and is exercised by Him while on this earth and going out and in with you. (he saith to the sick of the palsy),

His calling of Matthew from the receipt of custom, and his eating, upon that occasion, with publicans and sinners, and justifying himself in so doing (Mar 2:13-17). III. His justifying his disciples in not fasting so much as those plucking the ears of corn on the sabbath day (Mar 2:23-28). All which passages we had before, Mt. 9 and 12.

هذَا رَفَّعَهُ اللهُ بِيَمِينِهِ رَئِيسًا وَمُخَلِّصًا، لِيُعْطِيَ إِسْرَائِيلَ التَّوْبَةَ وَغُفْرَانَ الْخَطَايَا.
وَلَمَّا جَاءَ يَسُوعُ إِلَى نَوَاحِي قَيْصَرِيَّةِ فِيلُبُّسَ سَأَلَ تَلاَمِيذَهُ قِائِلاً:«مَنْ يَقُولُ النَّاسُ إِنِّي أَنَا ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ؟»
