The attainment of this prosperity consists in the change of the wretchedness and misery of Judah and Israel (the whole covenant people) into permanent happiness, and their being built up - i.e., the firm establishment of their civil prosperity through the secure possession and enjoyment of the good things of the land - as in the beginning, i.e., the time previous to the rending of the state through the falling away of the people into idolatry; cf. افتح المصدر ↗The scope of this chapter is much the same with that of the foregoing chapter - to confirm the promise of the restoration of the Jews, notwithstanding the present desolations of their country and dispersions of their people. And these promises have, both in type and tendency, a reference as far forward as to the gospel church, to which this second edition of the Jewish church was at length to resign its dignities and privileges. It is here promised, I. That the city shall be rebuilt and re-established "in statu quo - in its former state" (Jer 33:1-6). II. That the captives, having their sins pardoned, shall be restored (Jer 33:7, Jer 33:8). III. That this shall redound very much to the glory of God (Jer 33:9). IV. That the country shall have both joy and plenty (Jer 33:10-14). V. That way shall be made for the coming of the Messiah (Jer 33:15, Jer 33:16). VI. That the house of David, the house of Levi, and the house of Israel, shall flourish again, and be established, and all three in the kingdom of Christ; a gospel ministry and the gospel church shall continue while the world stands (Jer 33:17-26).

لأَنَّهُ هَا أَيَّامٌ تَأْتِي، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ، وَأَرُدُّ سَبْيَ شَعْبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَيَهُوذَا، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ، وَأُرْجِعُهُمْ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَعْطَيْتُ آبَاءَهُمْ إِيَّاهَا فَيَمْتَلِكُونَهَا».
وَأُعِيدُ قُضَاتَكِ كَمَا فِي الأَوَّلِ، وَمُشِيرِيكِ كَمَا فِي الْبَدَاءَةِ. بَعْدَ ذلِكَ تُدْعَيْنَ مَدِينَةَ الْعَدْلِ، الْقَرْيَةَ الأَمِينَةَ».
فَأُوجَدُ لَكُمْ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ، وَأَرُدُّ سَبْيَكُمْ وَأَجْمَعُكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الأُمَمِ وَمِنْ كُلِّ الْمَوَاضِعِ الَّتِي طَرَدْتُكُمْ إِلَيْهَا، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ، وَأَرُدُّكُمْ إِلَى الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي سَبَيْتُكُمْ مِنْهُ.
سَأَبْنِيكِ بَعْدُ، فَتُبْنَيْنَ يَا عَذْرَاءَ إِسْرَائِيلَ. تَتَزَيَّنِينَ بَعْدُ بِدُفُوفِكِ، وَتَخْرُجِينَ فِي رَقْصِ اللاَّعِبِينَ.
يَشْتَرُونَ الْحُقُولَ بِفِضَّةٍ، وَيَكْتُبُونَ ذلِكَ فِي صُكُوكٍ، وَيَخْتِمُونَ وَيُشْهِدُونَ شُهُودًا فِي أَرْضِ بِنْيَامِينَ وَحَوَالَيْ أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَفِي مُدُنِ يَهُوذَا وَمُدُنِ الْجَبَلِ وَمُدُنِ السَّهْلِ وَمُدُنِ الْجَنُوبِ، لأَنِّي أَرُدُّ سَبْيَهُمْ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ».
فَإِنِّي أَيْضًا أَرْفُضُ نَسْلَ يَعْقُوبَ وَدَاوُدَ عَبْدِي، فَلاَ آخُذُ مِنْ نَسْلِهِ حُكَّامًا لِنَسْلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ، لأَنِّي أَرُدُّ سَبْيَهُمْ وَأَرْحَمُهُمْ».
وَأَنَا أَجْمَعُ بَقِيَّةَ غَنَمِي مِنْ جَمِيعِ الأَرَاضِي الَّتِي طَرَدْتُهَا إِلَيْهَا، وَأَرُدُّهَا إِلَى مَرَابِضِهَا فَتُثْمِرُ وَتَكْثُرُ.
« هكَذَا قَالَ الرَّبُّ: هأَنَذَا أَرُدُّ سَبْيَ خِيَامِ يَعْقُوبَ، وَأَرْحَمُ مَسَاكِنَهُ، وَتُبْنَى الْمَدِينَةُ عَلَى تَلِّهَا، وَالْقَصْرُ يُسْكَنُ عَلَى عَادَتِهِ.
وَيَكُونُ كَمَا سَهِرْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ لِلاقْتِلاَعِ وَالْهَدْمِ وَالْقَرْضِ وَالإِهْلاَكِ وَالأَذَى، كَذلِكَ أَسْهَرُ عَلَيْهِمْ لِلْبِنَاءِ وَالْغَرْسِ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ.
وَيَكُونُ بَنُوهُمْ كَمَا فِي الْقَدِيمِ، وَجَمَاعَتُهُمْ تَثْبُتُ أَمَامِي، وَأُعَاقِبُ كُلَّ مُضَايِقِيهِمْ.
