وَبَنَى بَيْتَ وَعْرِ لُبْنَانَ، طُولُهُ مِئَةُ ذِرَاعٍ وَعَرْضُهُ خَمْسُونَ ذِرَاعًا وَسَمْكُهُ ثَلاَثُونَ ذِرَاعًا، عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ صُفُوفٍ مِنْ أَعْمِدَةِ أَرْزٍ وَجَوَائِزُ أَرْزٍ عَلَى الأَعْمِدَةِ.

As, in the story of David, one chapter of wars and victories follows another, so, in the story of Solomon, one chapter concerning his buildings follows another. In this chapter we have, I. His fitting up several buildings for himself and his own use (Kg1 7:1-12). II. His furnishing the temple which he had built for God, 1. With two pillars (Kg1 7:13-22). 2. With a molten sea (Kg1 7:23-26). 3. With ten basins of brass (Kg1 7:27-37), and ten layers upon them (Kg1 7:38, Kg1 7:39). 4. With all the other utensils of the temple (Kg1 7:40-50). 5. With the things that his father had dedicated (Kg1 7:51). The particular description of these things was not needless when it was written, nor is it now useless.

It would house 300 gold shields (10:16-17) and possibly served as both treasury and armory (see 12:25-28; Isa 22:8). The Egyptian pharaoh Shishak later carried away the shields as booty (1 Kgs 14:27).

وَثَلاَثَ مِئَةِ مِجَنٍّ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُطَرَّق. خَصَّ الْمِجَنَّ ثَلاَثَةُ أَمْنَاءٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ. وَجَعَلَهَا سُلَيْمَانُ فِي بَيْتِ وَعْرِ لُبْنَانَ.
وَثَلاَثَ مِئَةِ مِجَنٍّ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُطَرَّق، خَصَّ الْمِجَنَّ الْوَاحِدَ ثَلاَثُ مِئَةِ شَاقِل مِنَ الذَّهَبِ. وَجَعَلَهَا الْمَلِكُ فِي بَيْتِ وَعْرِ لُبْنَانَ.
وَجَمِيعُ آنِيَةِ شُرْبِ الْمَلِكِ سُلَيْمَانَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَجَمِيعُ آنِيَةِ بَيْتِ وَعْرِ لُبْنَانَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ خَالِصٍ، لاَ فِضَّةٍ، هِيَ لَمْ تُحْسَبْ شَيْئًا فِي أَيَّامِ سُلَيْمَانَ.
وَجَمِيعَ مُدُنِ الْمَخَازِنِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ لِسُلَيْمَانَ، وَمُدُنَ الْمَرْكَبَاتِ وَمُدُنَ الْفُرْسَانِ، وَمَرْغُوبَ سُلَيْمَانَ الَّذِي رَغِبَ أَنْ يَبْنِيَهُ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ وَفِي لُبْنَانَ وَفِي كُلِّ أَرْضِ سَلْطَنَتِهِ.
عُنُقُكِ كَبُرْجٍ مِنْ عَاجٍ. عَيْنَاكِ كَالْبِرَكِ فِي حَشْبُونَ عِنْدَ بَابِ بَثِّ رَبِّيمَ. أَنْفُكِ كَبُرْجِ لُبْنَانَ النَّاظِرِ تُجَاهَ دِمَشْقَ.
